Unsurprising Accidental Discovery

Do they never rest? Quite by accident I found pages on pages of hit pieces on JD Vance. I’m a new user of X, so I can have access to Grok. Naive, I signed up to follow some people I like. Little did I know that few (if any) of the sites which appear in my feed are actually those of the people I want to follow. For example, I’m flooded with “JD Vance News” posts. So I did a Brave search asking if these posts on X are actually from JD Vance.

Instead of an answer to my question, instead I got about 3 full pages of hit pieces of many varieties - “fact checks”, “outright lies” he told, he “follows white supremacists” and on and on. Never a single neutral or positive observation. These search results come from every Brit “news”paper I’ve ever heard of and some I haven’t. Of course, there’s NPR, PBS. It is clear they fear him as the successor to Trump and they sense a need to get a big head start.

I am still trying to figure out how to broaden my feed on X. I’m simply flooded with accounts which include the name Vance or Carlson or Trump and I don’t think even one of them is the actual person. They’re “news”, “parody” or some other subterfuge. Can anyone here suggest how I can get a broader feed, more (God help me)”diversity” in what I’m presented? Otherwise, after this brief foray, absent helpful suggestions here, I will revert to my erstwhile non-participation in anti-social media. I see little use in seeing the same “should ______ dem be in jail”? Or “should Pam Bondi continue to wear her cross?” BTW, it took repeated searches to even get her name to appear!! Cf. Vance hits, all negative. With AG Bondi search, I got Merrick Garland and numerous lefty STATE AG’s. And this isn’t a carefully curated Google “search”! It’s Brave. I guess the idea is that since they haven’t yet got ammo to use against her, for now they’ll show she just doesn’t exist. Oh. I forgot! There is NO MEDIA BIAS! I wish the Jacobins would hurry.

In passing, I can’t help but observe that the MSM is impervious to learning from experience. They did everything - character and even shamelessly promoted physical assassination - and only succeeded in getting Trump elected by a greater margin than in 2016 (who knows what the actual result was in 2020?). They are truly insufferable in their lies and arrogance.

They’ve got a tiger by the tail and it consists of the people that they have so deceived that if they let up on the lies there might be a few percent of their victims that don’t want to commit suicide over what they have been led to do to their fellow human beings. That few percent will be coming after them.

My solution to the problem has been to use lists on X. You can create many different lists, then add specific individuals to one or more lists. You do not need to “follow” these people, or otherwise even engage with them at all. Once you have a list, you can create a new column, then assign a list to the column. This may not work as well on a phone, but it works great on my desktop where I can view 5 columns at once.

I have a list for personal friends, one for business associates, professional friends, etc., but then also one for politics, trumpworld, technology, etc. It’s easy to add or remove accounts from a list, clear a column of already-read tweets, etc. Some of my lists fill up pretty fast, so I periodically skim through, then clear, so that next time I visit, I’ll only see new tweets.

Thanks for the tip. I had no idea. I only use the tab for those I follow and it will be to break these up into categories.
