I had an epiphany watching Abdul El Sayed crouching at the edge of the stage, holding the microphone out to that guy tearfully questioning him about the IRCG.
The Dems are looking for a few good men. Masculine men. S’why they put up with Platner for so long, until he crashed into what’s left of the “Believe all women!” bollard.
“Masculinity” is different from “virility”, I’m trying to work out exactly how. But Mamdani, El Sayed, Piker (an Indian, an Arab, and a Turk, respectively) project virility. The Dems are effing starved for it after Ol’ Jo[k]e’s pink-and-white frailty. You could just smell the aftershave on Joe’s pale, withered jowls—these bearded warriors are all “never-shave”. It’s not everybody who could get into the pose El Sayed struck and hold it without toppling over. It’s not everybody who would jump into a swimming pool wearing a suit like Mamdani did ( although he’s no body- builder, which is probably the reason he didn’t strip down at least to the waist before his immersion—but never mind, he has a lightning smile!) ) And Piker, my GOD! what was the GOP thinking , to put that pic of him in his underwear up in the Jumbotron? Ei yii yii!
Okay, sure, these guys are all Muslims AND Communists (y’really can’t be both, but they’ll work that out later when they’re bivouacking among the ruins of Western civilization) but: who cares! They are just oozing testosterone! It becomes their swarthiness better than it does the Nordic complexion. A white guy who’s into body-building is, of course, a Nazi. (And real Naziism à la the departed Platner STILL doesnt go down easy—I reckon that’s a good thing? Maybe we can squeeze sump’n encouraging outta that?)
This is form of what used to be disparagingly called “Orientalism”. But, in their determination to eliminate white virility (such as Trump displays) the Dems are more than willing to embrace the, um, ethos of the old and now despised musical “Kismet”. Our daughters are in love with the Caliph!
