Weekly Space Report: No Catch on Starship TF6

Double report this week, as Marcus did a post-flight review on Wednesday.

Highlights from Wednesday’s After Action Report:

  • Architecture history review

  • Booster 13 functioned perfectly, catch aborted by the tower’s automated health checks.

  • Ship 31 functioned perfectly, including Raptor re-light test on orbit

  • Re-entry heating did not produce any burn-through, troubleshome forward flap survived.

  • Flawless flip and soft splashdown in daylight.

  • Deformation observed in ship sidewall where tiles were removed.

  • No more Block 1 Starships. Block 2 has larger propellant tanks, relocated front flaps.

Highlights from this morning:

  • Launch tower catch abort confirmed to be comms loss due to tower antenna damage.

  • Fabulous additional video released. Including Indian Ocean bouy with audio.

  • Test Flight 7 will use Ship 33.

  • Possible plan to use active cooling (with propellant) on re-entry.

  • FAA likely to approve 25 Starship flights per year.
