In order to definitively demote of God - to render Him unnecessary in exchange for salvation by only the state and its apparatus - the left has made materialism a de facto religion. The endurance of our betters’ devoutly-held worldview, however, has become tenuous in light of recent scientific advances. These show beyond a reasonable doubt that the material universe could not have created itself and that Darwinian natural selection lacks the creative power to account for new species, as its adherents purport it does; small variations within species surely occur - whole new body plans cannot be explained by Darwinism or its newer versions. No supposedly “scientific” theory explains the source of what has been recently understood to be the prodigious amount of specified information contained in the most simple living cell - in either its genome or epigenetic loci.
Nonetheless, don’t look for intellectual consistency - or any cognitive coherence, really - among progressive devotees’ ritual acts - beginning with linguistic dogma. For example, are we at all surprised that, though evolution is de rigueur when it comes to biology in woke, materialist dogma - when it comes to societies, this process of incremental improvement, also called evolution is - well, verboten. In wokeism, a society or nation imperfect (according to woke dogma) at its inception must be - according to strict woke tenets - destroyed to atone for its “original sin” or birth defect. Qui bono, I wonder?
Come to think of it, there is an accidental consistency afoot here: abortion for inconvenient biological conceptions is a leftist sacrament. Suicide - no redemption allowed - is prescribed for societies afflicted by original sin; that’s abortion writ large - especially for Western democratic republics. Islamic autocracies, not so much; they’re just fine, since they, too, are totalitarian; “birds of a feather”, it seems. These kinds of beliefs mean that evolution, as in creating “a more perfect union”, is impermissible according to the cult of woke. Civil war being the quickest way to kill a society, leftist ideologues invented the absurdity called “white privilege” in their relentless effort to precipitate one. By dividing society along every imaginable cleavage line (and some fanciful ones, to boot), the violent end they seek is obvious. Exaggerated racial animus was the perfect pretext to ignite the dry tinder, which the left had so carefully set in place over decades; “victims” created and neatly stacked like dry tinder awaiting ignition.
The reality of interracial harmony in America is actually quite benign and, in reality, not very complicated. Only endless repetition of the meretricious media mythology makes it seem problematic. Black Americans are by far more culturally celebrated than hated. It’s not a close call. Avatars, incarnations of this truth are legion and include people like Barack Obama (President), Oprah Winfrey (fame + everything that pays), Samuel L. Jackson (the best paid movie actor), Morgan Freeman (generally just beloved), many athletes and academics (conservative ones) and too many others to name. Language is suffused with black cultural idioms. This had been obvious - even to third graders until the MSM became the propaganda arm of american (sic) marxism (whose goal is revolution “by any means necessary”, as they also shout, relentlessly). That is, all this was obvious was until woke lefty intellectuals seized the academy - especially the the schools of “education”. These, they promptly turned into polluting propaganda factories, spewing such execrable garbage as “the 1619 project” and lately “white privilege”.
Saying the United States was founded in 1776, was recently declared by the woke, to be not just wrong, but apostasy! This was the central goal of their long march to the now ever-so resonant, leftist echo chamber - formerly known as the university. Just as the Founders explicitly envisaged the several states being “laboratories of the law”, so many nations of the world managed to figure out what worked - and what didn’t - as their societies and governance evolved. They did this through a very long series of trial and error experiences - by which what worked was kept; what didn’t, discarded; both in culture and in law. The only “privilege” involved was individuals sensibly agreeing to engage in behaviors which proved to be functional - as opposed to dysfunctional. - in the daily workings of society. This, and working out whatever difference arose, civilly. As to modern America, which cultures work and which don’t (culture is not the same thing as skin color, though there is, indeed, some overlap) is plain to see for all those in touch with reality (as opposed to ideology). Whether it can be discussed honestly is a different question - especially since the left also insists there exists no such thing as objective reality; only their ephemeral dictates; “their truth”.
Low and behold - and obvious to all but rabid racists and bizarre, irrational, ideological intellectuals (you know, the same ones whose faith demands that mental illness in children is best cured by opposite-sex hormones, mastectomy and/or castration) - it was overwhelmingly white European societies which were especially successful at most social undertakings. It was no accident that Europe was where the industrial revolution occurred. These societies clearly showed over time (and with some notable missteps) that when large numbers of people became educated (in the three R’s , the Ten Commandments - especially avoiding envy), worked hard, were thrifty, postponed gratification, raised children in two-parent families, refrained from criminal or reckless behavior (like drugs/alcohol), low and behold they succeeded - wildly and in large numbers!
By contrast, today’s leftist intellectuals encourage envy as fuel to inflame ancient human hatreds - thought to have been long abandoned - using the obvious tactic of ‘divide and conquer’ to acquire corrupt power for themselves. “Disparate impact” is the square peg of envy forced into the round hole of law. Blatant practice of their own obvious assertions of moral superiority - their own supremacy - is conveniently ignored, even as they decry the slightest self confidence in others as execrable “supremacy” and sure “hatred” of some “oppressed other”. Only the endless repetition by “media” accomplices give these absurd accusations the slightest shred of public acceptance. “Lies, repeated loud and long enough, eventually become truth”. (a well known maxim, yet still effective).
In all their imperfection (and not a few horrors), these societies in Europe - myriads of free choices by millions of individuals, who happened to be mostly white due to geography, added up to certain kinds of social behavior (and abstention from others), evolved social and economic systems which eventually created wealth and leisure. This success also permitted installation of pontificating idiots in universities (actually paid good money) to tell everyone else - usually in arcane technical jargon - just how wrong they were about everything. They preached that life was (and is) meaningless, to boot - (with the sole exception of paying these oracles to shame others from their entitled perches on high in ivory towers). This is aught but absurd, puerile nihilism in pursuit of nothing but raw power over others. It is the oldest human conceit, camouflaged by endless pseudo-empathic dramatic, carefully choreographed performance theater. Think Orwellian tyrannical pigs in lipstick, rouge, eye liner and tutus doing an in sync chorus line - to flashing signs demanding obligatory applause by their converted “media”.
These same charlatans invented “white privilege”. Simply put, what envious, manipulative leftist sociopaths call “white privilege” is nothing but a series of self-disciplined voluntary behaviors in societies where those rules and behaviors arose, quite simply, because they were found through experience to have provided the maximum benefit for the largest number of people. They are available for voluntary adoption by any culture. This empirical knowledge is independent of skin color. It may be and has been discovered by various groups of various races or ethnicities. It is hardly exclusionary. It is clearly inviting, by example!
Alas the societies employing such competent and ever self-critical and improving ways are still imperfect. However, they are far less imperfect than the “warmest” of socialist utopias, similarly invented and trumpeted by self-appointed supremacists (and whose obvious supremacy may not be stated). These are usually intellectuals, acting in service of their own power, notwithstanding their slickly-advertised and diversionary “empathy”. These can be recognized by their incessant complaints about any other group exhibiting the slightest degree of self-confidence based upon objective merit. These, who refuse to fall into socialist line, they call “white supremacists” and/or “racists”. No group may consider itself superior to any other group in any manner, whatsoever; only our leftist betters - who PRACTICE SUPREMACY, explicitly and endlessly in our faces. They alone may define or even speak of “supremacy”. That, you see, is the zen of “woke”: we’re superior! If that’s “woke”, color me asleep.
I don’t see much evidence that any other nation, woke group, ethnicity or race has provided a better example of a society worth emulating. Until some other multicultural society worthy of emulation is found, please shut up about so-called “white privilege”. It is, after all, the color of hogwash (or bull excrement - and, accordingly fragrant, in a not-beckoning olfactory way).
