Britain has fallen a long way in the last couple of decades. That’s just the kind of thing that causes civic disruption, if not civil war.

Circa 2000, I confronted some leftist friends of mine with deep connections to leftist NGOs with the fact that motion pictures (including some TV shows) misportray prisoner gang rape as being primarily perpetrated by neo-Nazi gangs, but that anyone with actual contact with the prison system (such as the organizer of “Stop Prisoner Rape”) knows that it is primarily non-white gangs that attack white men.
These were people with whom I’d established a mutually respectful professional relationship and I was willing to sacrifice that relationship to get them to understand that this corroded the foundation of civilization by making the majority of men feel terror at the thought of the justice system.

But this terror still corrodes the entire West.
Here’s the problem folks:
Ever since the 1960s the face of the war against working class white men has been upper class white men who don’t belong in the upper class at all. These upper class white men are just barely starting to understand the danger they’re in as a result of this. The only thing that’s protecting them from a French Revolution is the Democratic Party’s insistence that everything is about race and/or sex. Trump is merely loosening the thumbscrews on working class white men but he’s leaving them tied to the torture chair on behalf of private sector rent-seekers who like to pretend they’re entrepreneurs.
Genuine entrepreneurs, like Musk, would untie them in a heart-beat if only he would wake the fuck up to the fact that he would have been a trillionaire by now under a pure wealth tax.
But Musk, like Trump, is surrounded by monopolist parasites that make sure “wealth” is always conflated with “income” – and I include in that number those who got Elizabeth Warren to abandon her sanity and propose a witches brew of wealth and income taxes.
These parasites had better be identified and neutralized before Musk makes good on his promise to his parasites to turn government “brakes” into “accelerators”.
Otherwise we’ll have not just “The Apollo Program” on world reserve currency mainlined crystal meth – with all of the horrific consequences to The Nation of Settlers that entails – but the ongoing failure of upper class white men to have their come to Jesus moment will result in working class white men deciding that suicide by cop is preferable to suicide in prison in service of the vanity of the private sector rent-seekers.

Yeah but did you succeed in opening their eyes to reality? My guess would be no, in which case means your sacrifice was in vain. Most ideologues are not susceptible to facts and reason.
The plutocrats are having their come-to-Jesus moments one by one, as are members of the political class such as RFK, Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard. Will it be soon enough? Hard to say. May be too little, too late.

These folks were New England Brahmins. Such aren’t used to being confronted by someone with a Scotch-Irish Quaker background who believes that the Quakers originated with Vikings that decided that they would refuse to serve the hypocrisy of Christian Kings and found pacifism a way out.
I think I both fascinated and frightened to them.
There is some likelihood that the Human Rights Watch report would not have been done otherwise. One can certainly question whether that report was important but a New York Times article titled “A Question of Civilization” did follow on that report and there was legislation signed into law.
