Not bragging, actually embarrassed I agree with Claire M

I assume that all of the various wings of the Ds will be lobbying for the various candidates to have P/VP picks that “represents” them. I think the candidates would have to do something like that, or someone else will. (if someone wanted to cause chaos in the process, this would be a place to stir up the interest groups)

Of course, all bets are off if it is a coronation rather than a nomination. I don’t know enough about alternate faster paths in the D nomination process, but I could see them going to Obama to have him decide directly if they run out of time.

Exactly…none of this is real.

I think Biden has a great historical precedent, Lyndon Johnson. It won’t even be necessary to kill anyone to bring in a non-elected president ready to pass some radical new legislation.

Lyndon was unpopular and knew it. A serious country would be asking who is running this country because the cabbage isn’t.

Why are Democrats talking about replacing Biden? The answer is obvious. His debate performance. What was wrong with his debate performance? I didn’t watch it, but it sounds like the mental decline was obvious.

If there are discussions of him being replaced as a candidate due to mental decline being so obvious it can no longer be hidden from the public, a serious country would be united behind his removal from office regardless of who is replacement is or how unpopular she is.

Lyndon Johnson was mentally competent. This is like Woodrow Wilson. At a minimum partially incapacitated and left to “run the country” for a couple years.

The three card monte game has begun.

Biden was elected as the Democratic candidate. The party will replace an elected candidate by fiat because he will be beat? This is not Democracy. How can anyone square this? We (whomever we is) have decided he cannot win so we will replace him and simply ignore an election? The ONLY rational that would allow him to be replaced is that he be removed from office for mental incompetence. Anything less exposes true Democracy as “Our Democracy”.

They will force him to step down. That is “Our Democracy”. Will he decide on his own to step down or will he be forced to step down? We know the answer without reading the NYT. When he steps down, there will be no questions about whether it is appropriate, legitimate or democratic to pressure the winner of a primary election to step down.

Many party nominated candidates for President had much lower chances of success. Nobody has stepped down after winning the primary because they couldn’t win. Lyndon stepped down after a couple of primaries. Not after he was the de-facto nominee.

This is “Our Democracy” in action and the Democratic voter was lied to and now will be disenfranchised in total.

If he steps down, any serious person would question whether we live in a country that elects our leaders or whether they are appointed.

But of course they are appointed. Joe didn’t get the first seat by real election - he was “cheated” INTO it. We all know that, the Far Left as well as the Right - and all those in the middle. Joe was a placeholder. No one even suggested deposing him via the 25th when that would have been clearly an appropriate response to him early on in his “presidency”.

So the bottom line is we are all being kept in the dark and fed BS. AND apparently accepting it all. EVERYONE is afraid to fight - because it has very real possibilities of becoming a serious, violent fight. The middle and lower middle classes are angry - and well armed. AND a lot of them have military experience. So the only question unanswered remains just what the horde of military-aged males allowed to infiltrate our nation would do in response. ?Would they fight, and are they armed. ‘Cuz by God Bubba is. And willing.

Certainly, we citizens are being kept in the dark about who is really running the country. But Zelensky knows exactly who he has to talk to when he wants more money & weapons. China and Russia know exactly who Zelensky is talking to. Any mere citizen who has been paying even limited attention knows that “Joe Biden” has not been calling the shots for years – but mere voters are not allowed to know who is.

It is reasonable to assume that the Swamp UniParty and the Swamp Media are in on the dark secret – but they are not part of the country, and they have no interest in sharing what they know with the residents of this “democracy”.

My “if I had to guess…Boomer Bad” narrative would predict a candidate that can even somewhat credibly offer young working class white men marginal loosening of the thumbscrews. This would require nothing more than pretending to take Martin Luther King Jr’s last book somewhat seriously – the book that I believe got him assassinated by the SPLC and/or the ADL:

https://www.amazon.com/Where-Do-We-Here-Community/dp/0807000671

What got him assassinated in my opinion was the recommendation that Henry George be taken somewhat seriously. When, in 1992, I recommended something more radical than Henry George, the vicious attacks turned me into an “antisemite” due to the obvious ethnic flavor of those attacks. That’s what made me look into Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination. The whole narrative of “Nixon’s Southern Strategy” as the origin of identity politics doesn’t wash. No. The whole 1960’s transformation of Democrat populism into identity politics was motivated by rent seeking in both the public and private sector. The 3 assassinations (JFK, RFK, MLK) were in service of that.

Note whoever replaces Biden can even say they are going to aggressively deport fraudulent asylum seekers. I’ve run into rural Iowa employers that buy the lie that Biden has been more based on immigration than Trump. Seriously. That’s something that’s happening in real time in a battle ground state!

Rural business men prefer Biden over Trump in some parts of Iowa?

Very strange

On Metaculus, Biden went from 99% to 80% and Harris went from 1% to 7%.

Polymarket has “Biden drops out” going from 19% to 33%.

My diagnosis of this is as a more extreme example of the general support of mass immigration by Conservatism Inc:

Scholastic aptitude of the upper midwest boomers led the nation and, in direct contradiction to the mass media and coastal elites narrative, this was not concentrated in the urban areas but was relatively distributed. An exemplar is Grinnell, IA about which Tom Wolfe wrote in “Robert Noyce and His Congregation”. I watched what happened to this culture up close and personal from the heights of its leading role in the computer industry. The gene pool was nuked by a phenomenon I’ve called “erocide” that basically vacuumed up the best of the females into the urban areas to be turned into de facto prostitutes. I haven’t verified this but I was told the valedictorian of my HS class ended up in DC as a literal prostitute.

So the employers are desperate for young people and the cartels, in partnership with the CIA and the Biden adminstration, are only too glad to feed them quasi-fentanyl.

Dr Jill is showing who’s wearing the pants in the White House. This is sad and pathetic.

I was just listening to the last Ted Cruz podcast [1], and he is thinking Michelle Obama is their first choice (starting around 20 minutes in). She is almost untouchable to racism etc. complaints if she displaces Kamela. And they really want to displace Kamela.
He agrees with me she isn’t interested, but thinks there is a strong chance she could be talked around, especially if she is approached to be the savior of America and if it a really abbreviated campaign.

I also think she is politically disposable. If she loses, no one who might be a real contender is damaged for the next time.

And apparently Obama [1] and Bill Clinton [2] have come out in favour of Joe. Of course, this could just be a party stabilization move they could walk back later once they have a succession plan in place (Oh no! He’s gotten worse! Who could have seen it coming!). If it isn’t I’m not sure why they’d want to ride the election into the ground? Maybe BO’s control of the Ds is more tenuous than I thought?

Remember in March 2020, the day before Super Tuesday, every candidate except for Bernie, dropped out and endorsed Biden.

Who was the puppet master? Who was the conductor?

I’m guessing Barry.

Barry felt that Biden was the most electable candidate, to beat Bernie and then Trump

Why is Joe the most electable Democrat? Many older voters, mainly white, view Biden as the moderate from Delaware who grew up in blue collar Scranton. Still. Today.

Very disappointing and baffling but Rush Limbaugh used to say many people in the habit of voting D are unable to break that habit. The best example he gave was Keystone XL. Biden said he would cancel it on his first day in office which he did on January 21, 2021. And yet many Keystone XL construction workers voted for Biden and then they were shocked and upset when he did what he said he would do. Sometimes Biden actually tells the truth.

Not a conspiracy. Both parties use ex-Presidents as kingmakers and internal arbiters. The D nomination process has deliberately designed places where the party elites can influence the result, especially if it looks like another Jimmy Carter situation.

If it was BO who made the decision and/or appealed to the other candidates to drop, he possibly did it against his personal interests. The Obamas allegedly dislike the Bidens, a lot.

In the small mercies department:

No matter what other stupid stuff happens, it would apparently be unconstitutional (12th amendment, and it is more complicated than that) to have both Gavin and Kamela elected on the same ticket, since both are from California.

Probably no difficulty for a sitting VP to change residence state.
