The Crazy Years

This is so meta: a ‘news’ article about the response on social media to some pro-forma expression of condolence by a rival terrorist… er… freedom-fighter organization. Specifically, exactly one response: “‘What a joke,’ one user wrote on X.”

The joke here is that this is what passes for news. However much you hate the corporate press, it isn’t enough.

There is one objective reason to vote for Trump. All the right people hate him.

I’m not so sure…I take nothing at face value anymore. This feels like a psy-op: red team vs blue team…David vs Goliath…rooting for the underdog…create a hero and a boogyman…a Jerry Springer spectacle…just another distraction for the masses while the plans of the “elites” (whoever they are) continue apace while the masses are pacified with some kind of cathartic release from time to time when their team “wins”.

Not exactly sure just who or what your response is aimed at. ?Hamas alleged critique, news reaction, potential for all this being made up, Trump being hated by all the right people.

The indictments are unprecedented.

The civil judgments are a complete joke.

This is beyond your typical red vs blue psy-op.

Sorry, I guess I didn’t hit the “Reply” button…I was commenting on Trump being hated by all the right people.

Fair enough…it’s an unprecidented psy-op.

The workers in question were salaried, nonunion employees in technology and engineering in the U.S. During the remote meeting on Friday, they were informed that they were being laid off.

Presumably the DIE-approved executives did not have the intestinal fortitude to look people in the eye and tell them that their services were no longer required.

Anyway, those (white?), (male?) engineering former employees can easily be replaced by outsourcing the work they used to do to India or China. What automobile company needs engineers? As long as they have enough lawyers, MBAs, and lobbyists, management’s stock options will do OK. Is that not what Boeing has spent the last decade proving?

From the article:

A follow up video shared more of Halley’s story, as well as an update.

“I was just walking on the sidewalk, and my head was down, and I was like looking at my phone, just sending an email. But there was so much room on the sidewalk and literally nobody was around, and I guess this man, I don’t know if he punched me or if he elbowed me. I literally passed out,” she said.

“I think he just was really mad that my head was down. He was walking his dog, so he took it upon himself to body check me and let me know to be conscious of my surroundings.”

From the comments:

She has a point about not walking down the street while looking at your phone. Always be aware of your surroundings, especially in NYC, and that goes double on the subway platforms.

The fact that Round Table had 1280 drivers to lay off says something bad about the quality of pizza in CA.

Round Table Pizza will lay off around 1,280 delivery drivers this year in the Golden State, and Excalibur Pizza has plans to cut 73 driver jobs, as well as 21% of its workforce in April, a state filling obtained by The Wall Street Journal shows.

Even at $20/hr. full-time, very few will be able to afford an apartment in California. To afford even a bottom 5% $1100/mo. apartment in Atlanta at the 30% maximum portion of income demanded by landlords requires $22/hr. Of course, paying below-subsistence wages isn’t economically sustainable for any business over the long term, but some executives think it’s their God-given right to get labor for less than it costs to produce.

Georgia state law defines disability as having an impairment which substantially affects ability to secure necessities of life such as shelter, and makes exploitation of the disabled or causing or threatening financial harm to them felonies, which are also RICO predicate offenses. Georgia civil RICO suits can be brought by any person without any criminal charges being filed, with available remedies including dissolution of the business, forfeiture of all assets, both personal and corporate, PLUS triple damages, punitive damages, and attorneys’ fees. I have a defendant in mind, a Georgia non-profit with thousands of employees earning $50/hr. but paid $12.50. They have $100M in the bank. Anybody want to help?

The base sticker price for the top-of-the-line Fisker Ocean Extreme has been cut from about $62,500 to $37,5000.[sic] Prices for the Sport trim level have been cut from $39,000 to $25,000.

The car itself hasn’t [sic] had some bad reviews. The Ocean was also the subject of a scathing review by American YouTube personality Marques Brownlee. His video was titled, “This is the Worst Car I’ve Ever Reviewed.”

“Do not buy this version of the Fisker Ocean,” reads the video’s description. Brownlee’s February 17 video has racked up more than 4.8 million views so far, and it sent Fisker’s stock price plunging after its release.

Notable issues include buggy software and steering wheel buttons that constantly get pressed when turning. Result is unpleasant driving experience.
