The Crazy Years

Why is the utility company for Houston requesting money from Department of Energy. Texas has energy independence!

I have to say that I am dismayed at where feminism has taken us.

In my early twenties I thought I’d like children, but lacked prospective co-conspirator. Looking at the very real likelihood of not marrying but needing to support myself, I desired something as close to a level playing field as possible, with potential employers not assuming without enquiring that of course I’d marry and go off to have children.

I’d never have imagined that things would devolve to this.

The problem in South Korea started when women were having more boys than girls.

In 1998, the male/female ratio was 1.15 males per female, a shocking and dangerous disparity.
In 2022, the ratio was 104.7 boys to 100 girls.

Bad news for society when men outnumber women.

In 1997 I had a friend who was a PhD candidate in History (Yale). He was very frustrated by the diversity mandates for getting tenure. I won’t repeat what he said but I’m sure you can guess, you don’t need an active imagination. He did say that female professors had a legitimate grievance about lack of tenure. Many quallified female candidates were being rejected.

Everybody likes feeding at the public trough. They’re going to waste^^^^^spend the money anyway so why not try to grab it yourself.

It seems like the Biden Regime isn’t giving a lot of money to red states. We have a seasonal house in the Hurricane Ian path, while we don’t qualify for FEMA bux since it’s a second house their response in the area was way more talk than actual action or dollars. Funny how the media didn’t treat that like New Orleans (which floods about every 30 years…) after Katrina

Imagine that: arresting a criminal for criminal activity. Maybe NYC, Chicago, and LA could learn something from this.

My opinion has evolved considerably since the Our Bodies, Ourselves era. At that time, the ideas being put forward seemed reasonable and positive. This turned out to be a Chesterton’s Fence case: tearing down something because its utility was not evident. Only after one understands the reason behind a social norm should its destruction be contemplated.

It was the arrogance of youth. As Dylan explained,

A self-ordained professor’s tongue
Too serious to fool
Spouted out that liberty
Is just equality in school
“Equality,” I spoke the word
As if a wedding vow
Ah, but I was so much older then
I’m younger than that now

Add: a sign that the regime is frightened by the growing popularity of Alternative for Deutschland. Right wing parties are gaining mainstream support, whatever that means
