The Crazy Years

The simple truth may serve as powerful propaganda, no?
Most any MSM “news” here, simply replayed unedited in Russia, serves as propaganda; it implicitly and powerfully shows where Russia does not care to follow. Putin has stated this in several speeches - something along the lines of “You are free to do such (crazy) stuff which has nothing to do with us; best of luck. We are not going down that path”.

That propaganda is actually funny. Are you sure it is not from Babylon Bee?

Of course, comedians tell us that real humor has to be based on a kernel of truth!

The Babylon Bee probably can’t afford the Russian actors.

Here is where Fourmilab’s heat has come from since 2010.

90% of the wood is sourced within 25 km of Lignières.

We call it “The Persuader”.

WTF?

Somehow a stray “You” (perhaps an autocorrect/predictive text) did this.

Discourse simply sends the URL to the site with an oEmbed suffix appended and, if a successful reply comes back, embeds whatever HTML the site furnished it. The formatting and content of the HTML is entirely up to the site queried. Apparently, the nypost.com content server saw the “You” at the end of the URL and used that as a key for the article to return, ignoring the article title that preceded it.

Actually, branded masks for a show about a serial killer doesn’t seem out of place for “The Crazy Years”.

Too bad “perp” was not part of LGBTQ+ – may have skipped arrest and been promoted to head of gov rebuilding effort in this “red” state!

Actually a Texas man.

Here is the DeSantis order:

It may have opened up business across county lines and not state lines and allowed FL licensed general contractors to do roofing.

Before solar panel scams, roofing scams were the big thing.

I find it disingenuous that the press release did not indicate the person apparently was a licensed TX/LA contractor and not some apparent scammer.

Here is another example of why AI does not scare me and why Klaus’s “Forf Indusreal Revoluzion” will be an unmitigated disaster. Technology is stupid folks. It is only as good as the moron programming it. So if you have a bunch of wokesters with frontal lobotomies putting this crap together, then you are going to get emergency calls for rollercosters coming from pre-programmed “if you shake it, it will call” devices.

Yep… the guy apparently was legit. Too enterprising for the good people of Florida.

Crabs in a bucket…

Where do contributions to Wikipedia go? Here is a Twitter thread with some information.

In a decade, Wikimedia’s spending has soared: from $10 million in 2010 to $112 million by 2020.

This surprised me, seeing as Wikipedia seems to be functionally the same website it was 10 years ago. So what explains this huge increase?

Maybe more people use the site, making it more expensive to run?

No: 2021 website hosting cost $2.4 million - which is LESS than it did in 2012.

In fact, according the Wikimedia Foundation’s own website, less than half of what they spend goes on directly supporting the website.

I quasi-predicted this in my Family Law class during law school. Not one kid in that class believed me or thought that I was sane after the prediction. But, here we are. Like Rush, I am on the cutting edge of societal evolution.
