The following slide, from a U.S. Department of 2020 Defense Qualified Military Available Study, was obtained by Military.com in the September 2022 article “Even More Young Americans Are Unfit to Serve, a New Study Finds. Here’s Why.

Interesting slide. Only 12% of ALL YOUTH appears to be qualified to serve in the Armed Forces. That is a discouragingly LOW number. Kind of makes me think of the woes Russia is going through at the moment vis a vis the Ukraine War. ?Wonder how many would be unqualified were we to be attacked. You guys might be resting your future prospects on us old guys.

Not quite. That may be the case under the current Leftie-favoring rules where the privileged offspring of nomenclatura parents are partying at colleges. But those spawn constitute the 11% who should be first in line to serve their country, or at least to serve Zelensky and his 10% co-conspirators. With great privilege comes great responsibility.

It is a reasonable guess that the non-college student 12% Qualified-Available for Military Service are a crucial part of keeping the country going, such as it is. Those are the fit healthy smart young guys on construction sites and assembly lines. Keep them on the job, and let the college kids (transgendered, female, and male) go to the front lines.

Oh, I don’t disagree with what you say. Trouble is, most of those mopes in school will be exempted from any draft were one to be imposed, and they would probably make poor soldiers if inducted. There has to be a certain amount of pluck to go to war, and I rather doubt they have it. Even in my graduating officer class there was one jackass who didn’t go with the plan and had family pull strings to get him assigned to an embassy in Europe - so he “missed” going to Nam.

There’s always one in the bunch.

Starlink suffers global outage after pushing a software update.

Turns out it was due to an expired security certificate in the ground station systems. Let’s hope the Starship telemetry downlink certificate is up-to-date for the orbital test flight.

Imagine the class action lawsuit against “eyes in the back of their” smart phone companies. Of course, the likelihood of such a class action lawsuit is mitigated by the fact that they, unlike Musk, are actually in power due, in large measure, to their surveillance. Just keep tabs on anyone who might be able to execute on a class action lawsuit and dirty trick them.

https://www.sfgate.com/local/article/salesforce-subleases-rest-of-east-building-17893576.php

A Salesforce spokesperson confirmed the sublease to SFGATE Tuesday afternoon, noting that it was part of the layoffs and office reductions announced in January. That announcement, which resulted in the decimation of 7,000 jobs globally, also resulted in the exit of Salesforce-owned Slack’s San Francisco headquarters in February.

The six floors of space now up for sublease, according to a pamphlet from real estate giant Cushman and Wakefield, constitute more than 104,000 square feet. The top four floors of 350 Mission, plus the fifth and sixth floors, are up for grabs and come with amenities such as a “fully functional coffee bar” and a slew of boardrooms and “high-end” presentation floors.

Salesforce’s intention to cut back on its San Francisco real estate footprint has been evident since even before the dramatic January announcement. Within the past year, the company — San Francisco’s largest private employer — has listed half of its space at Salesforce West at 350 Fremont St. for sublease and six floors at Salesforce Tower, in addition to the Slack headquarters move. In 2021, Salesforce listed half of its footprint in Salesforce East.
