Interesting that well-reasoned, informed individuals are now classed by Our Betters as “Pro-Russian Disinformation”.
Interesting that a country which has not been subject to a Constitutional Declaration of War by Congress is now the DC Swamp Creatures-approved subject of the Two Minutes Hate.
Cui Bono from manufacturing an enemy? Not the citizens of the US, for sure.
(Though someone has updated many of the original names, this may not be entirely reliable. For example, I haven’t seen Mao at any of the meetings for several years.)
Here’s the original, from Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea’s Illuminatus!
So, do we know why the Establishment, especially the Democrat Party and its movers, shakers, and millions of minions, are so preoccupied with Russia? Are Russia and Putin trying to hurt the United States and sow discord here? Of course they are. So is China, and I’d say China is doing a much better job of it, too. But we don’t have China! China! China! like we have Russia! Russia! Russia!
My working hypothesis is that we have the best politicians that money can buy, and China simply pays better.

United States fertility rate by income group, with marker size indicating group size. Above replacement fertility only in lowest and highest income groups. This needs to change or we are lost.
Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Meta are fighting a proposal by an Ohio power company to significantly increase the upfront energy costs they’ll pay for their data centers, a move the companies dubbed “unfair” and “discriminatory” in documents filed with Ohio’s Public Utility Commission last month.

Data centers for AI do tax power grids unlike bitcoin mining which relies mostly on stranded energy
Obviously, the number of traffic violations in San Francisco has dropped dramatically from 2014 to 2023. Those folks must have taken “good driver” classes and improved their skills. The city has become a veritable paradise. A blind man could see that.
Duuude! Everyone knows that Mearsheimer is a racist antisemite. Sachs must also be one since he mentioned Vicky Nuland without appending “praise be upon her.” Sachs also quoted Putin, who the bien-pensant well know is literally Hitler.
What are “independents”? In opinion surveys like the above, they often are found to fall between Democrats (D) and Republicans (R) on hot-button issues. Thus, surveys of “all voters” tend to provide numbers that fall between those from Ds and Rs. One can presume from this that Independents are more moderate than the average D or R partisan, but that’s not necessarily true. Presuming a 1-dimensional political spectrum, and stipulating its deficiencies, Independents could also occupy positions more left than the mean D as well as more right than the average R. That might not be noticeable as the Independents’ mean would still tend to fall between those from the two established parties.
But let’s test the hypothesis that a sizable number of ostensible Independents are actually shy Republicans. After all, Rs are not cool. Democrats never get asked to exclude the many crazies in their ranks but Republicans are constantly told they have to explain the likes of Mitch McConnell, or Lindsey Graham, or the Cheneys. (Well, at least the latter is no longer an issue, as the Cheneys have defected to the Other Side.)
The next three plots are scatter plots involving D, R, and ALL concern, from the Pew data above. If my hypothesis is true, that Independents are largely shy Rs, there should be a higher correlation between concern values between R and ALL than between D and ALL. And indeed there is. Not dispositive, but suggestive just the same.
D vs. R (surprisingly) has little linear correlation. D vs. ALL has even less association. R vs. ALL, however, has a large positive correlation (R2=0.82, r=0.91). Based on this cursory analysis, it is reasonable to presume Independents (the difference between ALL and D and R) lean R, at least this year, this election, with these issues, from this poll.
Supreme Court means increasing the number of justices if you are voting for Kamala. They wanted to pack the court with Biden but they couldn’t eliminate the filibuster
What do we mean by “independents”? There are a lot of people who never vote. And there are millions of citizens who could be classed as “contingent voters”. That is to say – they will never vote for a Demoncrat, nor will they ever vote for an Institutional Republican who is happy in the DC Swamp. But occasionally there is someone like Ronald Reagan, or Ross Perot, or Donald Trump – and those contingent voters will come out and vote.
If we look at votes cast in presidential election (actual votes, not media-beloved percentages), it seems quite defensible that a Reagan or a Perot got millions of votes from people who sat out other elections. The key independents are not shy Republicans – they despise RINOs as much as Demoncrats. But if an anti-DC outsider happens to end up on the ticket, they will vote for him – even if he is a Republican nominee.
Sorry, but all the polling and “news” stories are irrelevant. All that matters is who counts the votes. In all the dem cities, that is controlled by the same people who permit all the daily lawlessness. Do you suppose the dem officials in charge of election ballot counting and the Soros prosecutors winking at them as thousands of illegals cast ballots, will take election day off from rank lawlessness to elect Harris? Really?
