Thanks Gavin. At this stage we can count on Ukr/The West doing any unhinged thing just to PO Ru. Until painful pressure can be applied directly to the warmakers this will just keep going - they care about no one but themselves…

The role of China & India is unclear though. Both China and India are trying to contain Islam, yet tentatively support Russia.
If memory serves, the FedGov lawyers gaining lifetime high-paid employment for their services at Guantanamo Bay agreed (or specified?) that the US jailers must put on gloves before their infidel hands can touch the sacred Koran.
I wonder what those lawyers would make of President Putin’s infidel lips touching the sacred Koran?
Really, US citizens are so poorly served by our “government”.
Let’s assume those three photos are in reverse chronological order. In the third, he just had Botox. He decided it wasn’t enough for the trip so he had a facial using stem cells from war orphans. That provided the puffiness. And that wore off by the time the photo with the Quran was taken.
Ryan Evans, a member of the Reuters team covering the war in Ukraine, was killed and two Reuters journalists were injured in a strike on a hotel in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk, the news agency said on Sunday.
Evans, who was working as a safety adviser for the agency, was killed after a missile struck the Hotel Sapphire where he was staying as part of a six-person team on Saturday, Reuters said in a statement.
Zelenskiy: “An ordinary city hotel was destroyed by the Russian Iskander,” he said in his evening address on Sunday, adding the strike was “absolutely purposeful, thought out … my condolences to family and friends”.

Is this the same Zelenskiy who is proud of sending flocks of drones into Russia, where they often seem to strike houses & apartments where innocent Russians live? Pot - kettle - black?
Anyway, I have no problem with “journalists” being killed when they voluntarily enter war zones. They choose to be there, and sometimes they become the story instead of reporting the story. I have a lot of sympathy for the ordinary Ukrainian men who are press-ganged off the streets and sent involuntarily to try to kill other Slavic people with whom they have no argument. “Ukranian democracy” – she is a hard mistress!
What if … in one weeks time or so … the “news” will say that Ryan Evans was not a journalist but a MI6 operative ?
The first casualty in war is the truth.
Gilbert Doctorow, who studies Russia closely from his seat in Brussels, reports an interesting take on the current world situation by Frants Klintsevich, a Russian former soldier and politician:
"In short, the Zelensky gambit [invasion of Kursk] that is being enabled fully by the United States is not a PR stunt but a full-blown invasion intended to be the vanguard of what will be an air assault on Russia’s strategic assets far in the rear using JASSM, Storm Shadow and other long-range missiles launched from F16s.
Klintsevich has further intimated that the two U.S. aircraft carriers and their escorts now in the Eastern Mediterranean may be there not to contain Iran but for an all-out attack on Russia using their jets to deliver nuclear strikes. I add to his analysis that this may explain the knock-out of Russia’s early warning radar stations in the south of the country by Ukrainian drones acting on orders from Washington."

Of course, in a functioning democracy such as the US, before any such world-changing action by the Joe Biden Administration, Our Betters in Congress would insist on having a thorough debate, consulting with their constituents, and standing up to take individual personal responsibility by voting for a formal Declaration of War on Russia.
some from the US is speaking up about Americans being killed … also in Ukraine .

Here is a report that China’s decision to restrict the export of drones & drone parts – which all the best people said would hurt Russia – is hurting the Zelensky regime too. Surprise!
Commander of the tactical aerial reconnaissance group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Robert Brovdy (Madyar) reported that after September 1, prices for drones will begin to rise, and their availability will decrease due to new export restrictions introduced by China. These restrictions concern the export from China of many components necessary for the assembly of drones, which are entirely dependent on Chinese goods. “I believe that these restrictions may become one of the factors that will force us to sit down at the negotiating table on terms that are unfavorable for us,” Madyar noted.
The bigger issue for Western warmongers is this demonstration of the foolishness on depending on the kindness of strangers for weapons of war and their components. What chance would the DC Swamp Creatures have starting a war against China which supplies essential components for “US” planes, missiles, tanks, and ships? Components which the US can no longer make for itself, thanks to a generation of outsourcing.
If common sense prevails, Western warmongering will be retired. If …
I think speculating we are preparing to nuke Russia is a bit excessive. It’s the kind of talk that if carried out more extensively, may well “acclimatize” people to the whole concept of use of nukes. I personally think such use would be catastrophic to life on this planet - everywhere, not just for the developed nations. It is ONE of the reasons this whole war in Ukraine is such a bad idea - there is a very real risk IMM that Russia, back against the wall, would use “small” tactical nukes to aid in accomplishing their goals.
Somewhere today there is a report, allegedly from a high-ranking Ukrainian military leader, that the Donbas is lost. Russia has taken control of it, and Ukraine has little or no chance of reversing that. That kind of puts the whole war into a different light. ?Where is the point of continuing this slaughter, just to potentially lose the rest of the country.
Possible. But we have to remember that Our Betters have expanded the long-running civil war within the Ukraine into an existential conflict between US/NATO and Russia.
Russia certainly can’t afford to lose and have a rapidly rearming NATO Zelensky regime on its western border. Our US Betters cannot afford to walk away from the Ukraine since that would be the effective end of NATO and would accelerate the end of the US Dollar. It is 50/50 which side might feel itself compelled to use nukes first. And, sadly, the votes of we spectators in Western “democracies” do not count at all with “Our Side”.
From what I understand, “tactical” nukes are intended for use against massive concentrations of enemy forces – say 1,000 “Ukrainian” tanks in close formation storming into Russia. The Zelensky regime no longer has those kinds of forces.
A more likely Russian first-use of small nukes would be against the NATO supply bases & ports in Germany, Belgium, etc which are feeding the killing machine in the Ukraine. Would US/NATO respond to attacks on Euro military bases with all-out thermonuclear war … or would US/NATO tiptoe quietly away? That is the $64,000 question.
A more muscular option would be for Russia to use its nuclear torpedoes to create a tidal wave in the Thames estuary that would destroy – in a non-nuclear fashion – many of the installations of the warmongering UK government in London. It is a good guess that the Russians have run the calculations. But again, how would US/NATO respond? Would the response be limited to strongly worded diplomatic letters in French?
No, EVEN if DJT were president, such provocation would lead to serious retaliation. Putin must know this. I realize the old Politiburo debated launching a first strike against the US, but even they were sober enough to realize such a move would not be helpful to their survival. It’s one thing to irritate us (meaning the Elites in Power); it’s an altogether different thing to irritate the public at large. There are currently more and more people against our “involvement” in Ukraine, but that would reverse - in a heart beat were the Russians to use nukes. Bubba just would not stand for that - period. Yamamoto had it right - Japan pissed off the US. Look what happened to them. And they weren’t even FDR’s primary focus, yet they got thoroughly trashed. No other country in history has been hit with two nuclear devices. Yes, today there are sorry souls who bemoan that use, but none of THEM were slated to invade Japan.
I think you may be right about that. But don’t ignore the other side of the coin. All the indications are that the long slow Russian grind of Zelensky’s forces is gradually working. What will Our Betters do when the slow Ukrainian retreat becomes a rout?
Our Betters fear that if they don’t “save” the Ukraine, then the Baltic states, Poland, etc will realize that NATO is a very weak reed – one they cannot depend on. And if NATO collapses, the US Dollar will quickly follow. No more US importing essential real goods in exchange for unlimited freshly-printed fiat.
At that point, the temptation for Our Betters to initiate a nuclear confrontation to try to save Zelensky will be high – even though almost no-one in the US wants it.
Dangerous days ahead!
