SPACECRAFT SEPARATION!

T+plus 3 hours, 1 minute, 28 seconds. The sixth and final Space Based Infrared System Geosynchronous Earth Orbit (SBIRS GEO 6) satellite has been deployed by the Atlas V rocket’s Centaur upper stage for one of the Space Force’s highest priority space programs.

SBIRS consists of a network of satellites to support missile warning, missile defense, battlespace awareness and technical intelligence.
