Elon’s hope for humanity given ASIs’ truth seeking is that they will find humans interesting.
Well, humans find humans interesting for obvious reasons, but decreasingly so as humans are turned into NPCs by war (including politics) where we are mere components of a machine.
So I think there is hope for humanity in the sense that NPCs and, indeed, war (including politics) are boring.
But then so are artificial tests of so-called “fitness” including things like “dueling” as well as chess.
Two men at odds in Nature equipped only with hunting kits they could have themselves fabricated from natural resources were they properly cultured…
That’s interesting, and given the origin of nervous systems in such natural individual conflict going back to the Cambrian explosion of life’s diversity, it seems Man the Moral Animal (where Morality is in this deeply universal sense of “May The Best Win”) might be even more interesting than other species.
For NPC the BLOB Component, I think its pretty safe to say not even as interesting as a 40 year old termite queen.
