I’m really interested in this. Is it only this reservation that gets UBI? I think they get free housing, too, don’t they?
I’m tellin’ya, the kids who were selected or dragooned or whatever, to attend those now-reviled Indian schools, were the lucky ones.
I am pretty sure this is true and the reason is that when we would drive through the reservation, there would be new homes (maybe a few years old) that had been pretty much destroyed. I remember one in particular, part of the wall was knocked out and a horse was either drinking or feeding through the hole in the wall.
You might find the following interesting. I hadn’t been to a high school basketball game in 35 years so when I retired I went to the South Dakota state boys basketball tournament. A very small school that is on the reservation was in the tournament. They have a flag song that is played before the national anthem. I am not sure this is for every Indian school or this particular school. They have around five men with drums perform the song. I took the following picture from the
program that translates what they are singing.
There are a couple of things that are noteworthy.
They don’t have a problem with being called Indian (I think that is a white liberal infatuation). They don’t say other Indians, but they also don’t have a problem with the translation.
Unlike the rewriting of history, they know that the various tribes did not live in peace and harmony.
To provide some more evidence for this argument:
Using data on 57 million children: Children’s outcomes improve when they grow up in communities where more parents have jobs, especially if they move to these communities at a younger age. The positive effects are strongest for children who interact with peers whose parents are employed, particularly those of the same age group.
Outcomes improve across birth cohorts for children who grow up in communities with increasing parental employment rates, with larger effects for children who move to such communities at younger ages. Children’s outcomes are most strongly related to the parental employment rates of peers they are more likely to interact with, such as those in their own birth cohort, suggesting that the relationship between children’s outcomes and parental employment rates is mediated by social interaction.
Does the study look at the outcomes in the cases where 1) both parents are employed, 2) just the father is employee or 3) just the mother is employed? I quickly scanned through the full paper, but it was way too long to read carefully…I might have missed it.
Maybe I am late with my comment …
If I am repeating anything said before - simply bare with me
@Hypatia I will try to condense what we know so far and I am not an expert !!!
First we have to understand sha256 and the background (2001)
here wiki
It all comes together in Bitcoin (2009)
here wiki
NSA (or call it CIA as the parent organisation) developed Bitcoin (2009) and all the phrases that we hear are only marketing … some of it are even lies.
The financial institutions have now managed to transform Bitcoin into a financial instrument.
In USA the FED will NOT create a CBDC as that is not possible BUT the private banks can do this and they will.
In essence Digital Currency is an instrument of the totalitarian police state (USA soon to be).
If they implement Digital Currency then they can decide who buy what and when.
This is the ultimate control system.
Freedom is with paper money … no tracking, no surveillance, no limitations on purchasing etc.
Of course there is a million more to say about Bitcoin but this is the essence as I see it.
Here a hint, if you wish to invest in Bitcoin, understand that it is a commodity and only trade the ETF as liquidity is a major problem for the “real” Bitcoin.
This is no investment advice as I have no understanding of the financial market.
About Trump, he is a businessman and understand when the sees a good trade.
He is on the inside and is fully aware of what comes maybe he will even himself be the instrument for Bitcoin adaption in the USA.
I have raised my red flag but if you have a few million USD and do not know what to do with it you might try this trade and get some experience.
Yes, thanks Heinrich, that’s how it looks to me too—and YET, some of the other polymaths seem to feel it is the freeest, least traceable ,least controllable kind of currency.
How can it be both?
I have tried and am trying to understand. I ain’t no polymath, but I don’t think I’m, y’know, hopelessly stupid. Thanks, everyone for your efforts here.
Real bitcoin is more liquid than ETF because bitcoin exchanges don’t close.
You can only trade ETF Mon to Fri, 930 - 430 EST
Freedom is with cash or paper money. I have stated this before in another thread.
A better bitcoin proxy than ETF is MSTR, if you have a few million USD, buy some bitcoin and MSTR and maybe some MSTR options after their stock split on August 8. Then sell on Jan 2, 2026 because I predict 2026 will be bearish for bitcoin.
Here is Krugman on Trump Vance bitcoin:
Bitcoin is traceable because the blockchain or ledger is public
There are sites called blockchain explorer and mempool.space that shows the addresses and amounts transacted
Bitcoin is pseudonymous not anonymous
Bitcoin is decentralized because no one person or government or central bank or organization controls it
@Heinrich_Lorenzen raises some good points but he also repeats bitcoin hater talking points like Paul Krugman and Elizabeth Warren
Edit:
Truckers in Canada have an easier time understanding bitcoin than most Americans and Europeans. Same goes for Argentina and Venezuela. A currency that the government cannot touch? Sign me up (in Spanish)
Okay, so bitcoin is free FROM govt control: good. (Except that the govt administers electrical power delivery as a “public utility”….)
This reminds me of that picture on the internet a few years ago, where some people saw a certain dress as yellow, and some saw it as —what, black or purple. Or like one of those drawings which turns into a different picture as you stare at it.
Is that like Climate Change Denier?
actually it’s the opposite
Bitcoin enthusiasts are “climate change deniers” because we don’t care about climate change.
Climate change activists hate bitcoin because it uses ‘too much’ electricity
edit: climate change denier punchline was funny, I didn’t say bitcoin denier, I said hater. There is a difference between hater and denier.
Climate change hater vs denier
Science hater vs denier
Transgender hater vs denier
what many seem to not understand … no offence … but the government can make a law for anything…
all the “feel good” stories about Bitcoin is to get people to accept Digital Currency …
when you are in the system the government has total control and can do whatever they wish to any person … no need for prisons anymore … think about that.
they simply close your access to money and you are toast.
so be very careful what you wish for.
Canadian Truckers were debanked.
Laura Loomer has been debanked.
Argentina has inflation close to 1000 percent pre Milei.
Venezuela is a socialist dystopia.
These are not feel good stories about bitcoin.
edit:
https://thehill.com/policy/technology/428600-far-right-activist-laura-loomer-banned-from-paypal/
From Brave search AI…
Laura Loomer, a far-right political activist and internet personality, has been debanked by several financial institutions. Despite being under constant attack and the victim of an international campaign to silence her, Loomer has continued to advocate for her beliefs and the “America First” agenda.
Reasons for Debanking
The exact reasons for Loomer’s debanking are not publicly disclosed. However, it is likely related to her controversial views and activities, which have been criticized as promoting hate speech and misinformation.
Consequences
As a result of debanking, Loomer has faced difficulties in conducting financial transactions, including being banned from using popular payment services like Uber, Lyft, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. This has significantly impacted her ability to operate and engage with her supporters.
Response
Despite these challenges, Loomer has continued to advocate for her beliefs and maintain a strong online presence. Her supporters have also rallied around her, with some creating alternative financial mechanisms to support her efforts.
Addendum: Laura Loomer has been reactivated on Twitter or X. She is also on Gab and Truth Social
you just don’t get it … sorry to be so direct …
for now it is all “good” …
until all have drunk of the kool-aid
and have enjoyed their fair share of “free” money
just enjoy for now and wait
you will soon enough see the sinister plot of the cabal…
Could you please elaborate? Are you suggesting the bitcoin network will be turned against the people after we buy into it?
No need to apologize for being direct
What I hate is the condescending “sorry to be so direct”
edit:
@Heinrich_Lorenzen can you elaborate on “free money”?
Is “free money” like a “free lunch”?
Do you have a date when the bitcoin apocalypse will occur?
The CIA has been running an op for 23 years to get people used to a digital currency.
The current currency is digital. Do you think they have dollar bills in the bank that match even 1/10000 of the deposits?
As far as monitoring you or confiscating your money, they already do this.
The way I think about this is that it is too late to try to protect yourself from tracking and surveillance. That ship sailed. They will become more efficient by implementing better systems, but the truth is that, if you happen to have enough power to oppose the regime, they already can and do make things miserable.
The decision isn’t how to protect yourself from tracking and surveillance, it is what are your options moving forward. One is to keep your head down, obey and hope you don’t run crossways with some petty official. Two is to leave the US or have a plan B. I don’t think US dollars offer much insurance and insurance is what you need if your not willing to obey and keep your head down.
Edit: To put it a different way, in 1933 what would you tell a Jew, Gypsy, homosexual or any other soon to be persecuted person? What would you tell a farmer in the Ukraine in 1917? It wouldn’t be to accumulate cash so they can’t track you. It would be get out or prepare to get out.
Dear all
@magus
@Citizen_bitcoin
@Mettelus
I hope some of you have experience with trading on the normal exchange and on the crypto exchange. Because without experience you do not know what you talk about.
I started in 2013 with Bitcoin and later other crypto currencies and I also did setup a mining rack with GPU’s and a Rasberry Pi - so that I could get firsthand experience.
I never got rich from any trading neither with stocks nor with crypto but I did get experience.
I stopped everything in 2015 so it was only a brief experience with crypto.
So if you are not a professional trader I don’t think that this route is of any use.
That is my experience.
What I meant with free money was the people who started in 2010 to 2013 with crypto and did hold for some years and then cashed in and converted this “free money” to real estate or alike.
Some did get rich on hot air and they are still the promoters of the Bitcoin.
Maybe they were lucky?
No one knows who invented Bitcoin but it seems strange that if you did invent this and not to come forward and enjoy the fame hence it is believed that is was CIA/NSA.
Europe is in a total economical mess.
In most countries in the western cult world they already have laws in place to eliminate paper money.
The governments believe that they can get 35% more in tax revenue if they go crypto digital money.
All they have done so far is to get ready for the Great Reset as WEF calls it.
If you know, Nigeria was forced to do this crypto currency experiment, it did not go well.
India was forced to do a paper currency elimination / substitution with no warning, this was also total chaos.
I believe that EU will be the next to do such experiments.
When 1 January 2025.
But of course they have not told me so this is my best guess.
What we have to understand is that this evil cabal is not united … there are many fractions and they all want world dominance and that is why they will not succeed.
I know that 97% or more is digital money today.
The problem is that tracking is difficult and they need a lot of resources.
Hence why NSA have developed all the tools for surveillance i.e the revelations of Edward Snowden.
The crypto digital currency is simply the crown on top as they can easily control all citizens in all aspects of life - what you can buy and how much - with no effort.
The possibility is a very dark future and hence I totally agree that we need to do some prep work now.
Not all can do this but I think that all can do some small things, like having some extra stable food storage.
Personally I am ready to move out of EU if this becomes a total unlivable mess.
We have to wait and see.
