2024 UK Civil War

That is absolutely true. Our Political Class pretends that a Pakistani who really wants to be an American can accomplish that (or at least his children or grandchildren) – just as happened with immigrant Irish, Scots, Germans, Swedes, Italians, etc. The same pretense afflicts all the West. And so we end up in a situation where the most common name for today’s male babies in England is Mohammed (in all of its various spellings).

The Chinese Political Class looks at situations like England and decides – That’s not going to happen here. I freely admit I prefer the Chinese approach … but it is certainly too late now for the Europeans, and probably too late for the US.

Southern front:

Sea Lion has also been a headache for the Labour government as it sought to end the granting of oil and gas drilling licences in UK territories. That was overruled by the Falkland Islands government, which asserted its devolved rights stating that a decision was for it and not London to make. The oilfield would provide a massive fillip for the islands.

The UK judge Gemma Loughran has ruled that a Gazan refugee and mother of 3 must be allowed to bring 18 family members to the UK.

The judge claims that the woman’s mental health must be protected by allowing her family reunification in the UK and that not letting the relatives… pic.twitter.com/ZrFoif3I1z

Cheaper option, which of course wouldn’t/won’t be taken: Send the woman and her children home to her family.

Apparently the “wrong turns” the UK took did not include the English Political Class’s twin obsessions of encouraging & funding massive illegal immigration and destroying productive industry in the name of Net Zero. If Burnham had arrived promising to reverse those destructive policies, it would have brought him instant popular support … but he fluffed it.

My father’s dictum was to listen to what people don’t say. What Burnham didn’t say shows that the new English boss is the same as the tired old rejected failed English boss.

My version of this is: If the speaker (writer) believed the impression he appears to want the listener (reader) to take, would he have said (written) it differently?

Have they started selling tickets yet for her concert in Riyadh? I bet they’re dying to get in (or maybe to get out, once they’ve entered the venue).

Indeed. Trouble is, there are so many emetogenic issues, all day every day that we may soon have a vomiting emoji population explosion (BTW, it may already exist; I think I may have seen one not long ago).:face_vomiting: (found it!)
