Here’s a different approach to the issue of ethnic conflict. While the unrepresentative fools who run the West are doing everything they can to promote conflict within their borders (because of slavery, or something), there is at least one government taking a different path.
China has passed an “Ethnic Unity Law”. While China is something like 90% Han Chinese and does not encourage immigration, it has 56 recognized ethnic minorities. Now all those minorities are going to get Mandarin Chinese education rather than Western-approved bilingual education. This law has drawn the ire of all the Best People among the West’s Usual Suspects – which suggests that China may be on the right path.
Every country has its own problems, and while China may be as overwhelmingly Han as the West used to be “white”, not all of those Han people speak Mandarin Chinese. There are something like 7 major Chinese languages, with the Cantonese spoken in the economically dynamic south being one of the other major ones. How will those Han Chinese take to being forced to use a different language?

Japan has no problem with keeping their national identity and they don’t need a special law to do it. The US has plenty of laws on the books that the Regime simply ignores. The key to success in this domain is the will, not some words on paper. Chinese even have a special word to mock Western fecklessness that is undoubtedly familiar to you: baizuo.
Just as the political class will not allow American elections to be secure in spite of overwhelming public support, so they ignore the will of the people in matters of immigration. This is not an issue in China because the leadership and the public at large are likely aligned on the immigration issue, as they are in Japan. I mean, it’s not as if the ChiComs care a fig about what their people think.
Indeed! The answer is to take the obvious need for a unified society seriously, and then act on that need. Laws are merely an expression of that society’s recognition of the need.
The United States once had that with the “Melting Pot” idea. Anyone could be an American – regardless of national origin, skin color, religion, etc – as long as they had shared allegiance to the idea of being American. But the Political Class discovered the short-term benefits (to themselves) of Divide & Conquer – and now we all have to live with the long-term consequences.
As a country, today’s China has the advantage of being (in business terms) a “fast follower”. They can see what those ahead of them have done, and can learn from others’ mistakes. Hence they can reject multi-culturism, for example. For the once United Kingdom, it is already too late.
As stated, that is not workable and it never was the founding concept of this nation. Take some time to read what the Founders have written on this.
The proposition nation is a failure. Merely swearing allegiance to the government is not enough. The newcomers must have shared cultural values and that probably includes religion in a broad sense: Western values and religion. A nation is not simply a collection of individuals who happen to occupy the same plot of land There is no Magic Dirt that suddenly turns a Pakistani into an American as soon as he sets foot on this land. In any case, most of these newcomers do not share Western cultural values such as the rule of law, free speech, etc. Instead, they bring their dysfunctional cultural values with them, as well as their tribal conflicts.
Japan understands this and they’re branded as racists for it. Americans in Japan understand that, while they may be welcome there, they will never be Japanese. This was once true of the nations of Europe: an Englishman or Italian could move to France but would never be a Frenchman. Alas, those nations have lost their way and the concepts of Frenchman, Englishman, and Italian have lost all meaning. They have been reduced to mere economic zones. Sad.
