The Crazy Years

In nearby Fayetteville, the district’s public schools embarked on a five-year “equity plan” funded and designed by Walmart-funded groups, including a DEI “research institute” at the University of Arkansas. School leaders attended trainings on the “six tenets of critical race theory,” learned that “systemic inequality = trauma,” were drilled on the harmful effects of “microaggressions,” and sat through PowerPoints on “intersectionality.”

The district also implemented a “restorative justice” program—designed to combat the allegedly “disproportionate” discipline of black students—that discouraged teachers from breaking up fights and instructed them to sit on the floor with students to “dispel any sense of hierarchy.”

This report is based on thousands of pages of documents obtained through public records requests submitted by families in Bentonville and Fayetteville. It reveals how the world’s largest retailer is transforming schools in its hometown through grants, nonprofits, and corporate outreach, laundering its ideology as a kind of noblesse oblige.

Perhaps these families could perform a “specs-change” operation on the local off-the-Wall Mart. They have the economic power to change it from a for-profit to an not-intentional non-profit. Some such undertaking would be highly salutary for all concerned.
ADDENDUM: They might also do a daily round of SF/LA -style shopping. Just walk out with basket fulls of unpaid merchandise without paying. Good for the goose…

Ah yes, “California youth”. Some of them (i.e. the ones not covering their faces with ski masks) look suspiciously like adults to me…

The students — 11-year-olds at an expensive private school in the U.K. managed by the prestigious Girls’ Day School Trust — were reportedly displeased after the teacher addressed them with a “good afternoon, girls,” at the beginning of a lesson.

And herein we see the crazies really ARE running the sanitarium.

?Just when can we expect to see school vouchers AND a private school that teaches real gender ID, the basics of civics, the falseness of many current “curriculum subjects” and general good behavior. Wish I was a bazillionaire so I could fund such schools.

So much of what passes for “current events” (or should I say “current year events”) does seem the product of an alien intelligence that can’t quite construct a narrative that any remotely rational being would consider credible. It’s sort of like “the simulation” may be trying to maximize “the entertainment value” but doesn’t quite get what the word “entertainment” really means.

Which gives me a premise for a Kilgore Trout novel:

The author of The Simulation is GPT4.

The fee changes will go into effect May 1 as part of the Federal Housing Finance Agency’s push for affordable housing, and they will affect mortgages originating at private banks across the country. The federally backed home mortgage companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will enact the loan-level price adjustments, or LLPAs.

Mortgage industry specialists say homebuyers with credit scores of 680 or higher will pay, for example, about $40 per month more on a home loan of $400,000. Homebuyers who make down payments of 15% to 20% will get socked with the largest fees.

The new fees will apply only to Americans buying houses or refinancing after May 1.

Brilliant—they’ve invented a way to directly tax low time preference. Tax something, and you get less of it. Subsidise it, and you get more.

The offending text can be found buried in an Appendix of the proposed new registry agreement. Using the “redline” version of the proposed agreement (which is useful for quickly seeing what has changed compared with the current agreement), the critical changes can be found in Section 2.7 of Appendix 8, on pages 147-148. (the blue text represents new language) Below is a screenshot of that section:

Note the passage (emphasis added):

(5) to ensure compliance with applicable law, government rules or regulations, or pursuant to any legal order or subpoena of any government, administrative or governmental authority, or court of competent jurisdiction

With the UK government poised to show its power to send an “emergency alert” to every subject’s telescreen in Britain tomorrow at 14:00 UTC (15:00 BST):

Millions of mobiles will issue a ten-second siren-like sound at 3pm on Sunday as part of a UK-wide Government trial of the technology.

Tory former Cabinet minister Jacob Rees-Mogg revealed he is among those defying the Prime Minister’s plea not to switch off the alerts.

There is also fury that the contract to run the scheme, worth nearly £5.7million of taxpayers’ cash, has gone to Fujitsu, the tech giant behind the Post Office IT scandal that saw innocent postmasters jailed.

Mr Rees-Mogg praised The Daily Mail for printing a guide for readers to switch off the alerts after women’s charities and motoring groups also voiced fears over the impact on domestic abuse victims and drivers when the siren sounds. He urged the public to ‘switch off the unnecessary and intrusive alert’.

Here is news you can use.

Here is the U.S. Department of “Justice” (DO“J”)press release from 2023-04-18 on “U.S. Citizens and Russian Intelligence Officers Charged with Conspiring to Use U.S. Citizens as Illegal Agents of the Russian Government”, subtitled “Defendants Sought to Sow Discord, Spread Pro-Russia Propaganda and Interfere in Elections Within the United States”.

Oh dear, “sow discord”—can’t have that, can they? Indicted along with four Russian nationals are four U.S. citizens who are alleged to have “conspired” to exercise their rights of free speech or, as a DO“J” minion put it:

“Russia’s foreign intelligence service allegedly weaponized our First Amendment rights – freedoms Russia denies its own citizens – to divide Americans and interfere in elections in the United States,” said Assistant Attorney General Matthew G. Olsen of the Justice Department’s National Security Division. “The department will not hesitate to expose and prosecute those who sow discord and corrupt U.S. elections in service of hostile foreign interests, regardless of whether the culprits are U.S. citizens or foreign individuals abroad.”

All of the indicted, Russian and U.S. nationals, “face a maximum penalty of five years in prison” for “conspiring to have U.S. citizens act as illegal agents of the Russian government within the United States without providing prior notification to the Attorney General, as required by law”. Three of the U.S. citizens are, in addition, “charged with acting as agents of Russia within the United States without such prior notification. If convicted, they each face a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.”, demonstrating again how the U.S. treats its own citizens worse than its declared “enemies”, not to mention invaders storming across its borders.

Who were these U.S. citizens? Let’s see:

Moreover, from at least November 2014 until July 2022, Ionov allegedly engaged in a years-long foreign malign influence campaign targeting the United States. As a part of the campaign, Ionov allegedly recruited members of political groups within the United States, including the African People’s Socialist Party and the Uhuru Movement (collectively, the APSP) in Florida, Black Hammer in Georgia and a political group in California (referred to in the superseding indictment as U.S. Political Group 3), to participate in the influence campaign and act as agents of Russia in the United States, including the following indicted defendants:

  • Omali Yeshitela, a U.S. citizen residing in St. Petersburg, Florida, and St. Louis, Missouri, who served as the chairman and founder of the APSP;
  • Penny Joanne Hess, a U.S. citizen residing in St. Petersburg, Florida, and St. Louis, Missouri, who served as the leader of a component of the APSP;
  • Jesse Nevel, a U.S. citizen residing in St. Petersburg, Florida, and St. Louis, Missouri, who served as a member of a component of the APSP; and
  • Augustus C. Romain Jr., aka Gazi Kodzo, a U.S. citizen residing in St. Petersburg, Florida, and Atlanta, who served as a leader of the APSP and a founder of Black Hammer in Georgia.

Or, in other words, leaders of black left-wing organisations who committed the “crime” of having “made statements of solidarity with the Russian government” or, as it used to be called, free speech.

The entire DO“J” document has a triumphalist Newspeak vibe to it which is nothing less than chilling. Here is Tucker Carlson on the prosecution yesterday, 2023-04-21.
